Who has believed our report, to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed.
In Isaiah 53 the question is asked. But at the same time, the answer to the question is given. To whom is the the Arm of the Lord revealed, it is revealed to those that believe His Report.
Healing in the Redemption is a simple truth not fully understood by today’s church.
Sickness in the same way as your sin has been totally taken away with Jesus’s substitutional work of the cross, of giving Himself for us through His death. He also paid the price for our sickness, and just as He took away our sin, He also took away our sicknesses.
We see this truth, first of all here in Isaiah 53, which is all about the sacrifice at the cross and the hours leading up to the crucifixion,. We see that not only did Jesus take care of our sin, but also in the same way, bare away our griefs which in Isaiah 53:4 says in the Hebrew Text always translates sickness, and He carried away our sorrows which in the original text is the word for pain.
So in this verse we see that Jesus has borne away our sickness and carried away our pain the same way he carried away our sin.
Isaiah 53:5 tells us that by His stripes or wounds we are healed , past tense. So when did Jesus take those wounds, it was at the whipping post just before going to the cross. The cross took care of our sin, and at the whipping post our healing was paid for, but not only that, the Bible says He was a Lamb slain before the foundation of the Earth. This was in the Plan of God from the beginning to take away our sin and our sickness, which is the punishment for sin.
The Bible says out of 2 or 3 witnesses let every truth be established. In Mathew 8 we see Jesus healing the sick and it says He healed them all, so that what is spoken by Isaiah the prophet, would be fulfilled saying, “Himself (Jesus) took our infirmities and bare our sicknesses.”
Notice how this brings out the fact that Isaiah 53 was referring to sickness and to infirmities and not just sin, and most definitely not referring to Spiritual Sickness.
As we read on in the New Testament in 1st Peter 2:24 we see the same fact, that we, past tense, so this is already done, were healed by the Stripes of Jesus.
Why is this relevant, because our sickness has been taken care of by Jesus. We don’t have to wonder if God wants to heal us. We know that the Father allowed His Only Son to be beaten to the point of being unrecognizable as a human being, in our place.
We see that nowhere did Jesus turn anyone away that needed healing. We do not have to wonder if God will heal. He made provision for us to be healed just as He made a way for us to have our sin remitted. No one coming to Jesus to have their sin washed away wonder if it is God’s will. Then so we too can come to God the same way to be healed because sickness has been taken care of by Jesus.
This will so impact our lives because, we can come to God with full assurance that it is His will to heal everyone. We don’t have to wonder is this the day God will say yes to our healing, He said yes 2000 years ago, but truthfully He said yes before the foundation of the Earth.
Putting this into practice is as easy as simply following the command that Jesus gave us, lay hands on the sick and they will recover.
We do the laying on of hands, God does the Healing. I do my part, God will do His, if we believe His Word.
In Romans 10:17 says Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
Notice it say hearing 2 times, I believe it is saying, hearing not with only your physical ears but also hearing with your Spiritual Ears. And at say time put into practice what you hear!
So how will I put this into practice, by laying hands on the sick that we come into contact everyday.
A final note, God wants all sick to be healed. We just need to become a doer of the Word and not just a hearer only.
